Welcome to our Employee Spotlight blog series – Each month we feature a Q&A from one of our top employees at Centermark by Web.com.
This month we are featuring Mia Pagonas, Manager, Customer Success Consultants.
Where did you grow up? What was the experience like?
I was born in NJ and moved to AZ 16 years ago. I attended Arizona State University and attended night classes while working full time for a full service advertising agency. This experience taught me so much about balancing priorities and dedicating myself to reach a goal no matter how tough the going gets.
What drew you to work at Centermark by Web.com?
Back in July 2010, I was recruited by the NY HR team for my marketing and digital experience. At the time, Yodle (now Centermark by Web.com) was looking to expand the National team in AZ from four individuals to a team of six. After meeting with each member of the team (all 4!), we knew it was a match made in heaven. The most inspiring thing that drew me to work here was the entrepreneurial spirit of the office. We hustled and grinded every day – and would eventually lay the ground work for how we do business with our franchise partners today!
What is your favorite part of being a Manager?
My favorite part of being a Manager is helping people to grow and develop in their role. I love to empower my team to ‘make the call’ and do what it takes to make every client successful! Each team member has the key to their own success, and my job is to clear the path and give them the tools to achieve it.
What is a quality you appreciate in an employee or colleague?
I appreciate determination, drive, and hustle. Skill sets can be taught, but you can’t put a price tag on someone who has a passion for their work and owns their own success. Employees shouldn’t need a Manager to motivate them – the drive and passion to be successful should burn from within. When it does, that translates to our clients and a successful WBN.
What are your hobbies? What do you do for fun?
I enjoy fitness & food. Outdoor activities like hiking & stand-up-paddle-boarding inspire me, as well as weight-training & group fitness classes for a little friendly competition (it’s always a competition, am I right?!). When I’m not exercising, I’m probably grocery shopping, meal prepping, eating pizza, or trying a new restaurant. The Arizona Foodie scene is exquisite. If you’re in town a need a recommendation, I’m your girl!
If you could choose anyone (living or dead), who would you pick as your mentor?
I am inspired by my grandmother and wish she was still here to offer her guidance and support. Back in the 60’s, she maintained a household with a husband and four kids while simultaneously running her own business. This was unprecedented for her time; she was a strong woman with incredible work ethic and drive, and she made it all happen. She carried herself with air of confidence and she didn’t take any BS – all 5’1 of her!
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
I would travel to Europe to see my family in Greece. I would tour the Greek Islands and make my way through Italy & the Czech Republic.
If you could be a Lead singer for a band, who would you choose and why?
Easy answer…J.Lo. She can dance, she can sing, and she’s a total smoke show! She’’s been rocking the entertainment industry since 1991, back to her Fly Girl days on In Living Color. I’ll take her entertainment career but let’s just forget about her relationship history. 😉
